Having helped to make sure that marriage in this state is off-limits to gays and lesbians, the Florida Family Policy Council wants to set marriage standards for everybody else in Florida.

WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

Even as the majority voted to add discrimination into the constitution, 77% of Floridians now say they believe the law should provide all legal protections short of marriage to gay couples.

We must work hard to achieve these protections and to defend them from threats posed by amendment 2.

We must also reach out to the nearly three million Florida voters who opposed Amendment 2. We must identify our supporters and engage them in this effort to Undo 2.

Finally, we will reach out to those who supported Amendment 2 but can be reached. Polling shows us that communication with Black and Hispanic voters and greater engagement of young voters must be a major part of our effort.
